Manufacturing in months

June 18, 2020

The Detmold Group has rapidly established its Detmold Medical facility, allowing for the manufacture of face masks to protect frontline healthcare workers.

In recognising a long-term need for the localisation of critical supply chains, the Detmold Group has answered the Australian Government’s call to increase capability in manufacturing medical masks.

After commencing this project less than three months ago, the Detmold Group has been agile in its ability to secure machines, source in-demand raw material, and establish its new manufacturing facility.

Both masks are undergoing accelerated testing, including ongoing cooperation with the University of South Australia and Flinders University, in their establishment of Australia’s first PPE testing facility.

As additional staff are anticipated to be brought on to support the installation of additional machines and creating additional manufacturing shifts, the Detmold Medical anticipates it will exceed the proposed 160 additional roles created for South Australians by the end of July.
