Detpak partners with the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival to support their first ever closed loop event

Detpak is proud to have partnered with the Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival to support them in facilitating a closed loop waste management system for this year’s event.
Australia's premier Marathon returns on Sunday 2 October 2022, with five distances to choose from and all runners finishing at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Eco-Products® from Detpak is providing 250,000 compostable cups across all drink stations on course, which feature Gatorade branding, as the electrolyte partner for the event.
In line with IMG’s commitment to have an increased focus on sustainability of the marathon events, Detpak has partnered with Bio Gro to ensure that the on course cups collected by volunteers, are transferred to Bio Gro’s commercial composting facilities to be converted along with other green waste, into nutrient rich compost.
